On the contrary, I strive to love and respect human beings, and all sentient beings. Sometimes, I miss the mark. I am a Marxist-Humanist and a vegan because I believe we are capiable of a more just society, because I believe human beings deserve better. Part of that love and respect is calling others to task when their actions are less than respectful, and speaking out against injustice. PeTA, with their objectification of women, their preying on those with eating disorders, their euthanasia of healthy animals, and their advocation of animal welfare as opposed to animal rights, causes more harm than good. As an ethical vegan, I abhor ethical vegetarianism, because it implies that being vegetarian is sufficient, and that using animals as a means to an end is justifiable. The production of eggs and dairy products are directly connected to the meat industry. While I abhor ethical vegetarianism, I do not abhor you. If someone wants to date a racist person or speciesist with the intention of converting them out of it (or somehow maintain a relationship with opposing ethical values), go for it, but for me personally that is not what I'm entering a relationship for.
